School Dinners

The government funds schools in England to provide every child in reception, year 1 and year 2 with a hot, nutritious meal at lunch time. Our school dinners at St Denys run a 3 week rota and also include a sandwich option. Children choose their dinner every day when the teacher takes the class register.

The week dates are at the top of each page.

Week 3

Dinners have to be ordered by 9.30am so it is important that if your child is going to be late and they want a school kitchen dinner, that you call the school office to book one by calling 01530 260004.

If your child has a food allergy please contact the school office to discuss how to arrange for a special menu from Catering Services at Leicestershire County Council. Please note that getting an individualised menu can take up to 6 weeks and so you may need to send your child with a packed lunch until it arrives.

Refreshments

The school asks parents/carers to send their child with a labelled drinks bottle daily. This can contain water or weak diluted cordial. No fizzy drinks please or concentrated juice!

Under fives will receive milk free of charge. For those children over five years, a daily milk carton will cost around £15.00 per term. Payment is managed by parents/carers online and you can order through Cool Milk’ at www.coolmilk.com/register. As part of our Healthy Eating programme, the children are encouraged to choose from the free fruit provided at morning break.
